Karen Petermeyer
Nutritionist/Dietitian, RDN, CD

Karen’s (she/her) passion is to help people move away from experiencing guilt and shame around food and body. She supports individuals to move towards their own innate body wisdom through a weight-neutral, anti-diet, Health at Every Size ® approach.

Karen understands that each individual has their own story which plays a role in their relationship to food and body. She works to see the larger picture at hand to helps guide individuals to re-discovering their own hunger, fullness, satiety, and pleasure through the principles of Intuitive Eating.

Although trained as a traditional dietitian her clinical experience, continuing education, and passion for social justice has pushed her towards the anti-diet world. This lens of thinking is outside of the cultural norm, and can move people away from bondage towards freedom. Karen believes that all individuals regardless of race, gender, size are worthy and valuable. Maybe the dieter isn’t the problem, maybe it’s the diet?

Karen’s love for people and for those understanding and knowing their self-worth, and beauty drove her into the field of eating disorders. She is tired of the constant message that we are not good enough and we physically need to change. Her experience working in higher level of care eating disorder facilities and in the outpatient care setting has only increased her love to work with those struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, and food and body image issues.
